Marco grew up in the floral industry and always had a true passion for it. Another true love of his is the United States. It was love at first sight when he arrived in the US for the first time at age 16. He was awarded a scholarship through the Dutch Bulb association at NSCU where he studied Horticulture. After his studies, Marco began working in the flower export business where he built up a daily consolidation program to the US from the ground up all the while traveling back and forward between Holland, the auction, and visiting clients in the US. In 2010 he received the opportunity to move permanently with his family to the US, they did not have to think twice about that! Today, Marco is very happy to be living and working in the States with his family and loves to be close to our clients. He continues daily building up our presence here in the states.

Jennifer is an account manager for HDB USA. Her career in flowers began in 2005 when she became a shop manager and event designer. One of her favorite things is to wake up every day and connect beautiful flowers with amazing designers. Born in Holland, Bas started working with flowers as a young boy, peeling bulbs at 10 years old and at 12 selling narcissus door to door. At 18 he began to work at the auction in Aalsmeer. After learning the English language Bas came to the USA and since April of 2012 he has been working for Hilverda De Boer. Bas currently lives in Newtown, Connecticut, with his wife and three kids.

Susan brings 30 years of experience in the floral industry to her work with Hilverda De Boer. Since 1993, Susan has been an active salesperson in Dutch and global importing to the US. Product knowledge, variety specifics and logistics are some of Susan’s specialties that enrich our clients’ experience at Hilverda De Boer USA. Susan lives in the suburbs of Chicago with her husband, son and 2 dogs.

John has many years of experience in the flower industry in both design and in wholesale sales and operations. His passion for fine flowers led him to Hilverda De Boer first as a customer and for the past three years as an account manager. John lives in the beautiful Ozark Mountains and is active in local arts organizations.

Lisa’s floral experience began in 1997 as the owner of a shop in Miami Beach. Her passion for flowers has continued with HDB USA, working on the import side while developing long-lasting relationships with florists and floral designers. A mother of two, Lisa currently resides in Miami, Florida, and enjoys cooking, fishing, and spending time with her family and friends.

Meredith is part of the sales support team for Hilverda De Boer USA. She has served in the past as Marketing Director for Disney Publishing’s FamilyFun magazine, and in addition, she was marketing specialist on the Merrill Lynch trading floor and human resources associate for an aviation company. A native of South Dakota, she has put down strong roots on the East Coast.

Meredith is a graduate of the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. She and her husband are the parents of two young girls, who make them proud every day.

Marissa is born and raised in the floral industry. Marissa’s father was a bulb grower who later on worked for the Dutch Flower Auction. At age 19 Marissa started her own flower store which she managed for years. Later in her career she worked in the flower export to the UK & USA. After moving her young family to the States in 2010 she stayed at home a few years raising her young family, and worked for a few hours a week at the local Flower Wholesale, to stay in touch with her passion; flowers! Today Marissa works part-time in our sales support, keeping in contact with vendors, truckers and colleagues. Marissa’s hobbies are cooking, floral design decorating and her dog Doodle.

A former 8th grade English teacher, Christine is thrilled to be a part of the HDB family. In her spare time, she loves to cook and spend time with her family. Christine is a new native to the South, where she lives with her husband and two beautiful children.

Sander lives with his wife and two children in the flower-filled village of Rijnsburg. His entire career has been in the flower business, including more than a decade with Hilverda De Boer. His favorite part of the job? Traveling the farms, visiting the growers and finding the newest floral discoveries to share with the customers.

Michel lives in Enkhuizen, a small historic city in the north of Holland. He is the son of a grower specializing in lilies, tulips, iris, peonies and cymbidium orchids. He is married with two children, three dogs and a cat.

Jennifer has twenty nine years of experience selling Dutch Flowers throughout the United States.

She is a proud Mother of two, living in Dutchess County N.Y. with her husband, two cats and seven chickens.
She enjoys cooking, kayaking and hiking. Jennifer’s favorite flowers from Holland are Myosotis and novelty Tulips.

Arjan van den Oever, working in the flower business since 1990. First as flower packer and later in sales.
He is experienced in exporting cutflowers to the USA, Canada, Denmark and Israel.

Arjan lives in Katwijk, a city at the North Sea, with his wife, son and daughter. Next to work he is engaged in visiting soccer games of the local football team, race cycling, and he is assistant coach at the football team of his daughter.

Daniel resides in Ecuador and had his induction into the flower business at Agrinag Farms, he spent close to two years learning the ins and outs of all the logistical processes as well as valuable sales experience there, he is now absolutely delighted to be a new member of the Hilverda De Boer-family.

Other work experiences include: a brief stint as an Interpreter from English to Spanish and vice-versa, and a Customs Broker Assistant for cargo arriving and departing from the sea ports of Guayaquil.

He has a girlfriend and a little french poodle mix called Nube, both of which he adores and make him feel overjoyed with life.
He loves to play soccer in his free time, whether that is on a pitch with his friends or sometimes on the Playstation, he’ll enjoy either as long as he can play the beautiful game.

Jessica lives in Denver, Colorado with her husband, four children and her adored Bernadoodle. She graduated from the University of Colorado, Boulder with a degree in Political Science which was clearly put to great use when she opened a flower store in Denver’s Washington Park neighborhood in the early 2000’s. Thus, officially evolving her love of flowers into a career path.

Other interests include hanging out with her family, dog walks, skiing, gardening, interior design & getting to the beach whenever possible.

Birgit lives in Mijdrecht, 15 minutes from our headquarters in Aalsmeer, The Netherlands. She has been working in the flower business since she was 18 years old. She started in her family’s export business, where she was responsible for export documents and invoices. Later in her career she moved on to accounting. Since 2020 she enjoys working at Hilverda De Boer as a Credit Manager.

Birgit is married, she and her husband have two children. Every weekend they can be found on the sports fields, watching their children play matches.  Birgit herself plays tennis and recently also padel.
